You probably know by now that I’m obsessed with making color palettes inspired by all sorts of things – art, fabrics, specific paint colors, rugs, you name it!
I love seeing the different color combos you can create, and it’s made even better when you start finding home decor that matches perfectly!

This post is part of a series on building color palettes around a home decor item.
For this one, I’m featuring a print by an amazing UK artist I just discovered on Instagram, Becky Boden.
I love her dreamy scenes and the way she uses color. Becky has several prints available in her shop, and is releasing a new series on June 27, 2025.
Wondering how I create color palettes based on a piece of decor? Here’s my guide for building a color palette on Canva!
Color Palette Inspired By Artwork
Below, you’ll see the color palette and mood board I put together inspired by that fun Becky Boden print.
To create it, I first snagged a bunch of the colors that jumped out at me using Canva (check out my how-to guide!) After that, I did some browsing in my favorite shops to find pieces that matched those colors.

You’ll probably notice I was drawn to a lot of food-related stuff, and a bunch of the pieces have wavy or scalloped edges. I think it kinda echoes the loose, free lines in Becky’s artwork.
I always like to include something unexpected– this time it’s a cement banana! And trust me on the Roen candle recommendation. It’s my go-to!

Paint Colors to inspire
I picked some Farrow & Ball colors that I think complement the Becky Boden print. Though the white might seem a touch less vibrant than the pure white in my palette, it’s just one shade away and creates a softer transition between the bright hues and a stark white.
Personally, I’d paint my walls Wimborne White and trim one of the other fun colors.
Wondering why I always use Farrow & Ball? I really like their paint for a few reasons, and a big one is their sample pots.
The samples actually use the same paint formula as the big cans, which is not the case with some of the other paint companies. This means that I can buy a few pots to add colorful accents around the house without spending a ton.
I love using this trick to paint small decor items like picture frames, lamps, and vases.
