We’re Alex & Elizabeth– and we’re so glad you’re here!

A few years ago, our house was just… beige. Safe, fine, totally boring.

We eventually started adding color, one small project at a time, and something clicked. Not just “oh, that looks nice“– more like, “WAIT! we can actually do this ourselves!?”

So we kept going. Room by room, mistake by mistake, until our whole house turned into the colorful, joyful place it is today.

Somewhere along the way, we realized: this is actually a method. A real, repeatable thing other people could learn too.

So, that’s exactly what Home in the Hemlocks Color School is. We turned our own house into a teaching tool– every workshop here is built from something we actually figured out for ourselves.

Our workshops walk you through the stuff that feels overwhelming but doesn’t have to be: building a color palette you love, choosing art that feels like you, making paint decisions without the second-guessing.

No design degree required. Just you, colors you love, and a little courage to start.
