Our colorful playroom was such a fun place to put together! It’s a really happy space and our kids are so proud of it. Read below for details and sources.
I started the playroom design by choosing a rug and then I picked a few colors to carry throughout the space.
Choosing a color scheme was pretty easy after picking the rainbow rug. Our boys love green and yellow, so they are the primary colors in the space. You can read more about our home color palette here if you are interested in making your own!
What’s so fun about having a colorful playroom is that all of the toys in the house match it. The more color, the merrier, really!
There are a few additional areas in the playroom that we still need to style and shoot, but I’ll share a few spaces that we love below.
Bookshelf Wall
Perhaps my favorite part of the space is the DIY arch wall that we use as a bookshelf. It was a really easy project and made such an impact.
We love switching out the books on display– like Christmas books for the holidays or red and pink books for Valentine’s Day.
Gallery Wall
Another fun space in the playroom is our gallery wall above the couch. It features both art we have purchased and kid-art made in-house.
Colorful Playroom Sources
Paint colors: The walls are School House White, the green trim is Breakfast Room Green and the arch wall is Babouche. All colors are by Farrow & Ball.
Rug: Pottery Barn Rainbow Rugby Stripe Rug — I actually purchased ours from Etsy but I don’t see it there anymore. It shipped directly from India and is great quality.
