What started as an effort to streamline my packing for our Germany trip turned into the mix and match wardrobe of my dreams.
I can’t believe how easy it is to put a fun outfit together with the various pieces. Hopefully you find inspiration from it, too! Mostly what I hope you take from it is to HAVE FUN WITH YOUR OUTFITS!!!!

First, I’ll share the board and where I got everything, as well as sizing notes and thoughts. After that, I’ll share ideas for how to mix & match the various pieces to get several outfits.
My Mix & Match Wardrobe
Shirts
You’ll see that I have a pretty casual jeans and a t-shirt vibe. Below I’ll detail a few brands and specific types of shirts I look for.
I love AYR! And especially this top! It’s as great on chillier mornings with yoga pants, as it is a bit more dressed up with jeans and Mary Janes.
Sizing: I get my regular size in the Half Day shirt. It’s perfectly oversized!
Another great one by AYR. This shirt is a bit thicker than most of my tees and feels a bit more put together. I have it in both white and black.
Sizing: As far as sizing goes, I have white in two sizes– my regular size and one size up. Both work, so it just depends if you want your shirts a bit more fitted. I have the black in my regular size and wear it often.
I really like these for a casual top. It’s much thinner than the AYR shirt (and also much more affordable!) It comes in a variety of colors. I have it in both black and white.
Sizing: It’s boxy & cropped but that’s the style, baby. I get my regular size in these.
The butter tee! We all love the butter tee. It’s by a small clothing company based in Canada. They actually started with kids clothes– and yes, they have a kids butter tee and yes, my kids have it!
Sizing: I have my regular size (small) and it’s pretty oversized. I could have probably sized down but this one works. Plus I think it’s better for it to be a bit too large than snug!
I am very into colorful striped shirts and honestly wish I had more! It immediately makes an outfit more fun.
The blue stripe one is J. Crew but the color is typically out of stock. Kule has similar brightly colored striped shirts but really any fun stripe shirt will do!
I love this bright shirt!! I have been wearing it as an extra layer– either tied around my waist or on my shoulders. It adds a fun pop of color to an otherwise regular outfit.

Sweaters & Jackets
I know sweaters aren’t typically needed for summers, but I initially made this wardrobe for our Germany trip– and it can get very cool in the mornings & evenings there!
This is a wild card in the wardrobe! It’s currently on sale and keeps going in and out of stock– so keep an eye on it in your size if you’d like a bit of fun in your closet!
I am really sorry to tell you this, but the Alex Mill denim work jacket is absolutely amazing. It’s perfect. I have had my fair share of denim jackets over the years but absolutely nothing has fit as well as the Britt jacket. It immediately pulls an outfit together and gives an effortlessly cool look.

This is a great layer to have! It’s really soft and the colors are perfect. It gives beachy vibes.

Accessories
Accessories are an easy and effective way to add personality to your everyday style. Plus, they help extend your wardrobe which is extra helpful when traveling.
Here are a few of my favorites–
This bag matches every outfit I have! The color isn’t available many places but I found a few in stock at ShopBop. I love all of the Grande Fanny bags, though!
If I’m not wearing the green bag, I’m carrying a tote. Typically one from local Asheville shops. This book tote by Rifle Paper is really cute and colorful!
MY BEST SELLING PRODUCT EVER. I get the love for it! It’s fun and instantly adds something a bit more to an outfit. Be prepared for compliments!
I like to layer it with my initial necklace.
A bandana tied around your neck is another great way to add something extra to an outfit. Mine is from Block Shop Textiles– I don’t see it in stock but they have a ton of other great bandanas available!
I love this belt so much. It really pulls an outfit together and adds a little bit of fun, too.
Sizing: I went one size up but could have stuck to my regular size.

Skirts, Shorts & Pants
I love this skirt! It can be dressed up or down– looks especially great with a denim jacket and the red ballet shoes linked in the section below!

Y’all love these shorts! I do, too! Plus they seem to go on sale a lot. Several colors available but I particularly like the green & white stripe.

Red White Stripe Shorts
I have a pair red & white stripe boxer shorts from last year that I wear all of the time. The ones I have are sold out but if I see a similar pair I’ll link them here.
Ok, I know these halfway look like pajama pants. But they aren’t! Well, they could be, I suppose. I wear these year-round because they are light enough for the summer. They are especially fun paired with the butter tee from the same company!
Sizing: I have my regular size but I bet you could size down if you don’t want them too baggy
These pants!! They were initially out of my comfort zone but I love wearing them. I’ll let the brand’s description do the talking: Crafted from a sturdy cotton twill, this casual trouser has a modern line with a subtle, vertical seam at the knee that lends a cool curved silhouette.
I wear my smaller size in the color Bisque.
Perfect jeans! They come right to my ankle and I mostly wear them with sandals and ballet shoes. I wear my regular jean size and the color is Wynwood.
If you want to channel a mom from the 90s– GET THESE JEANS!!! I am obsessed with the fit. I wear my smaller size and love the color Navigate. I sampled several colors before deciding on this one.
Shoes
I wear these all of the time! I love how they elevate a simple jeans & tee outfit. I have my regular size– they felt a bit tight at first but after a few wears they fit perfectly! They are 25% off with code SUMMER!
A staple!
A classic tennis shoe. I wear these a lot. Regular size!
I especially like these with these socks (probably in the dictionary next to Man Repeller)
