Kitchen Sources: Card Room Green, Fruit Wallpaper & More

Every source from our kitchen-- paint colors, tile, cabinets, wallpaper, hardware, pendants, and more. Plus the story of how it came together and the one piece of art that made it feel like ours.

A Look At Our Kitchen

This kitchen was a full renovation– and Alex did every bit of it himself. New cabinets, new tile, new counters, new everything. It was a big undertaking and the result is one of my favorite spaces in the whole house!

The wallpaper gets the most questions and honestly it almost didn’t stay. The fruit wallpaper felt a little formal to me at first– beautiful, but not quite us.

And then I hung a Duke’s mayo embroidery by Whistle Pig Art on the wall and suddenly the whole kitchen made sense. That one piece made it feel like ours.

That’s the thing about a room– sometimes it just needs one unexpected detail to click into place.

Here’s everything in the space, linked and sourced.

Paint Colors

The cabinets are Card Room Green, the island is Down Pipe, and the range wall is Dead Salmon. All are Farrow & Ball colors.

For a deeper dive on how we use color throughout our whole house, read more about our home color palette. And if you’re already familiar with it, you’ll know that Down Pipe and Dead Salmon aren’t in the palette! I have plans to make a few changes in the kitchen soon.. stay tuned!

The Big Things

Counters

Calacatta Venice marble in a honed finish, purchased locally from Viktor’s Granite and Marble in Asheville. We can’t recommend them enough if you’re local!

Cabinets

Unfinished kitchen cabinets from Best Brand Cabinets in the Cameron style in maple. We chose inset cabinets which incurs an additional fee per cabinet. They arrived on pallets and we painted them ourselves using a hand sprayer!

Stove

We have an Ilve range (Nostalgie II). It’s beautiful!

Sink

We always get a lot of questions about our sink! I don’t see the exact one anymore but this one is super similar. It’s reversible if you want to have a smooth front.

Hardwood Floors

Oh my gosh, I love our floors! They were recently refinished by Travis of Avox Craftworks. He used Loba English Chestnut and the floors are red oak.
